There was this amazing calm energy surrounding Erin and Eric’s wedding day. Something we’re not accustomed to experiencing – but I found myself saying (about 20 times), ‘This is what I would want on my wedding day!’

So why was it so different from our other weddings? Well, to start, Erin and Eric chose to get ready – together. No bridesmaids, no groomsmen. Just the two of them. At first, you would think it might ruin a little of the surprise – or anticipation. But truthfully, why wouldn’t you want to be together with your best friend on this so important day? Starting a life together is no small feat – and having that time alone, together, reminds you why you’re really there. It’s not about the flowers, or the photographer, but about each other and your commitment to the journey. Where I understand that this isn’t for everyone (and in fact, they’re only my second bride and groom to enlist this idea), it was perfect and fantastic for them. Which is why we love how each of our couples are unique and individual – just like their relationships.

Their wedding was actually the first time I got to meet Erin or Eric – so I loved coming in “blind”! I knew very little about their day – and loved the mix of gunmetal, black and soft pinks. It had this little bit of feminine with just a touch of rock. And Erin’s shoes made me swoon – I love an amazing pair of Badgley Mischkas! Oh! And Erin’s dad brought a stunning black and white vintage Chevy. Yeah. Pretty incredible!

Their reception was stunning – with an amazing black cake, gorgeous pink uplighting and pale pink peonies and roses! All-around, this was an amazingly designed event!

I loved the dark metallic details in Erin’s belt!

We started their formals in the lobby of the Westin!

I adored shooting with this vintage Bel Air Chevy! So classic!

Erin and Eric’s ceremony was in the Rotunda at LMEC. It was our first time shooting inside there and we loved it!

Before the ceremony, we had a few minutes to pop in to the reception hall and see what they were planning. Even before the lighting, it looked gorgeous!

Instead of a standard guestbook, they had a coffee-table book of Orlando, where guests could write their well wishes!
Such a unique idea and something they can always have out :)

The reception looked amazing with a wash of pink uplighting and monogrammed initials!

A quick run outside for the last few minutes of sunset over the lake.

Since little hands caught the bouquet, they did a re-toss. Obviously everyone ran to catch it! (or, not really)

More little hands caught the garter…. so he got to hand-off to the man of his choosing!
