As two girls who went into this internship with no prior wedding planning knowledge, hearing we had to plan and execute a styled shoot was huge. Tori and I were almost immediately creating and adding at least a thousand inspiration pictures for what we were imagining. Little did we know how much actually goes into a bridal styled shoot. You have to think of everything, there’s the obvious; venue, dress, and Floral. But, you also have to think about bridal accessories, the color flatware you want, or if you remembered to source plates (thanks Kellen). We couldn’t have brought this Spring wedding inspiration shoot to life the way we did without the help from Kristen and the KWP team (we are forever grateful).
Spring Wedding Inspiration
Vendors
Another big aspect of the shoot is that we had to work alongside our amazing local wedding vendors! They brought our vision to life better than we could’ve ever expected and we are so thankful for them. Together we were able to execute this modern, fun and flirty styled spring wedding inspiration bridal shoot!
Venue: Luxmore Grande Estate
Luxmore Grande Estate was our first choice, mostly because of all of the brick pathways, fountains, and big open spaces inside and out. When we were trying to find a venue to fit our spring wedding inspiration shoot, we came upon Luxmore. It has that classic charm while still being bright and open and we knew that it would be perfect. We were able to use the front and back outdoor areas and the estate room with the fireplace. The great thing about the Estate is that it’s so spacious and we had several different looking spaces to shoot!
The team from Luxmore was very inviting and readily available if we had any questions or concerns. They were a huge part of how well the shoot came together in the end. We’re so grateful to the RW team for being so helpful that day!
Floral: Bluegrass Chic
Floral had to be one of the most exciting parts for Tori and I. We were so excited to see how our color palette would turn out with florals. Since the beginning we knew that we wanted a non-traditional ceremony space so we reached out to ask Bluegrass Chic to create a half-circle floor arch. In the end they brought our vision to life so beautifully. The whole process from start to finish, Bluegrass Chic was extremely accommodating and helpful.
The day of the styled bridal shoot was the first time Tori and I were able to see the florals. When I tell you I (Yuli) spent half the day talking about how gorgeous the florals were, I’m not joking. As soon as Bluegrass Chic arrived, they got right to work and were incredibly friendly. They even offered to move around the half-circle arch to wherever we needed which was so amazing. That alone took the shoot to another level. We were able to re-purpose the floor arch in three locations!
Desserts: Sweet Miss V’s
When it came down to desserts, we did a lot of searching for the perfect baker, and then we found Vanessa with Sweet Miss V’s! As soon as we looked at her work we knew she’d be a perfect fit. So we reached out asking for a naked cake, and some small desserts to go with our vibe. She responded quickly saying she was interested and gave us what felt like hundreds of small dessert options. We ended up going with mini donuts, blueberry lemonade shooters, and tartlets in addition to the cake!
From the moment Vanessa arrived, she was all hands-on helping Tori and I set up the dessert bar, answering any questions we had, and providing great feedback. This shoot was our first styled shoot so whenever we were indecisive or unsure we would ask Vanessa. She was more than happy to help! At the end of the shoot, she offered all the desserts to the team which was super sweet of her.
Bridal Salon: The Bridal Finery
Picking out a bridal salon was fairly easy. We already knew about The Bridal Finery through Kristen and we knew they’d be the first bridal salon we reached out to. So we emailed Tali with our spring wedding inspiration and from there we set up a date to come into the salon and pick out the dresses we wanted for the shoot. The day we went to pick out dresses we were greeted by Bri and she showed us around and helped us narrow down our search to three dresses! To fit our vibe for the shoot we wanted very fun and unique elements to the dress, but still keeping it on the more modern side. All of the dresses we ended up going with fit our spring wedding inspiration styled bridal shoot so perfectly!
Bri was with us the day of the shoot and was so helpful when it came to dress choices. She said we’d be able to shoot all three if time allowed (which we were able to). The Bridal Finery also brought all the accessories we could need! Bri did an amazing job styling the accessories with the dresses and was right by our side the whole shoot helping out wherever she could.
Model: Gabrielle Brookes
Throughout planning the shoot I would say that finding the model was the biggest hurdle. We had secured two different models, both of which had to call out of the shoot due to unforeseen circumstances. One of them ended up having to pull herself out of the day of the shoot! So we were going into this shoot model-less (YIKES).
Thankfully we have an in-house model, Gabby. I called Kellen right away to tell her what happened, and she knew right away to call Kristen and Gabby. We are so happy that Gabby was game to be part of the shoot. It kind of worked out for the best because she had been with us throughout the planning process, and knew exactly the vibe we were going for.
Furniture: RW Style
For our furniture rentals we went with RW style. They also own Luxmore so we thought it would be a perfect fit for our shoot. RW Style has a huge selection of wedding and reception rentals so it was an easy pick. The team from RW was very helpful throughout the whole process. When it came down to deciding what pieces we wanted to use, we had to keep our vision in mind and we explained that to RW and they gave us perfect options! We ended up with a beautiful wooden outdoor bar, wooden table for the dining area, and super cute gold chairs!
The bar area was probably our favorite just because we set it up as a dessert display! We draped pink fabric across the bar and placed all of our desserts accordingly. Then we repurposed our ceremony arch onto the bottom of the bar to give it some extra flare and it turned out perfect!!
For the dining area, we wanted to really display the beauty of the table itself, so no tablecloth was necessary and instead we used a tan chiffon runner down the middle. Then we added florals and candles on top of the runner. Lastly we added the dusty blue plates, acrylic menus, pink glassware and gold flatware. In the end the table scape blended together beautifully.
Hair & Makeup: Bronze & Glow Beauty
For Hair and Makeup, we went with Tiffany from Bronze and Glow Beauty. We had met her on more than one occasion throughout the internship and she does such beautiful work! If you’ve read Hannah’s styled shoot blog post you’ve seen that she used Tiffany for her shoot as well!
As you can probably guess, Tiffany did an AMAZING job! We knew we wanted a fresh makeup look and a cute up-do. Tiffany, executed our vision flawlessly. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for hair and makeup services!!
Planner: Serena with Blush
At the beginning of planning the styled shoot, we didn’t even have a planner on our mind (funny enough as it may sound). Once we realized how much really went into the shoot we reached out to Blush by Brandee Garr. From there we were partnered up with Serena! She helped us out so much from finding vendors, to styling, fixing issues, literally everything. We 100% couldn’t have pulled off everything as well as we did without her help.
Stationary: Do Tell Calligraphy
Stationary ended up probably being one of the last vendors we were able to find. Kristen was a huge help in finding the perfect person to do the stationary for the shoot. Kristen was able to connect us with Margaret from Do Tell Calligraphy, and she was amazing! She did such an incredible job in such a short amount of time and we were over the moon with the suite!
For our stationary inspiration, our color palette included muted pinks, blues and tans. Our other inspiration included, acrylic menus, floral envelope liners and a pretty modern clean look. Margaret made our vision come to life so beautifully!! We’re incredibly grateful for her willing to work with us.
Dish Rentals: Treasury Rentals
Emily from Treasury rentals was the first dish vendor we reached out to and she accepted immediately. We sent our mood board which consisted of cool toned stone looking plates, gold flatware, and some sort of pink or brown glassware. All of the items in her collection are in pristine condition and all so unique and fit our vision perfectly.
Day of, we decided to leave out the charger and just go with matching plates to keep it clean and simple. It ended up working perfectly, the minimal dish ware went perfect with the florals on the table.
At the end of the day, We couldn’t have imagined this shoot going any better than it did. Everybody involved went above and beyond to bring our vision to life and we are SO thankful.
