Cincinatti Wedding

I didn’t know much about Sarah when she first contacted me about shooting her wedding. But I knew from the second we started talking that I would adore her and her family! She had this really sweet way about her, but knew exactly what she wanted. She was organized and had it all together – so I wasn’t surprised when I found out she was a lawyer in Nevada – it made perfect sense. I knew even less about Churchill, but soon found out he was a former college basketball player that now works as a basketball coach with kids (really – you should see his side of the bridal party – I think everyone was over 6’5″!)
Sarah and Churchill are a ying and yang kind of couple. From the outside – they couldn’t be more different. But their personalities match each other so well. You can see how much Churchill adores Sarah and does whatever he can to make her happy – even if it means jumping out on the dance floor for a song or 2.
Their first dance was one of my favorite moments of the day. Even from the photos, I can see how much they love each other!
Ohio Rain
But the most memorable moment was definitely when the ceremony started. Sarah pushed it up a few minutes to avoid an impending Ohio rain, but as I stood at the front of ceremony and noticed water showering over me – I thought we had missed our window. To my surprise, I was wrong. The “rain” was actually just the wind picking up the fountain and drenching everyone! The guys were soaked, the breakers blew from the water – causing the music to stop right before Sarah made her way down the aisle.
And her family, never missing a beat, started singing in its place. Eventually, they got the fountain to turn off (it takes 15 minutes to stop from the time they flip the switch), and the ceremony went right along – wet guests and all.
And I absolutely couldn’t finish this post until I gave a huge *LOVE* to Andrea at Cincinnati Union Terminal. First of all, this venue was amazing. Opened in 1933, it once had over 200 trains run through the station in a day. It’s amazing art-deco design takes you right back to that beautiful time in America’s history. We had such a blast wandering through the halls and finding little nooks and crannies of 1930’s gloriousness that haven’t been restored yet.
It was so fantastic.
Alyssa and I were just in heaven shooting Sarah and Churchill’s wedding – and I’m so glad we met this gorgeous couple and their family and friends!
