Alex & Maria | Sneak Peek
January 18, 2020 at Bellwood Plantation, Vero Beach
Alejandro and Maria met back in 2013 in high school! After Alex’s graduation, they both moved up to Tallahassee where they adopted a kitten, Nola, and spend their time together in their “happy place” – which usually means Netflix, ice cream and snuggles! I usually like to ask our couples to tell us about their relationship, and about their proposal! Well, Alex definitely wins an award for most thoughtful and planned out – incorporating everything from a surprise getaway, to donuts, a hidden photographer, first engagement photoshoot AND a surprise party in their hometown! He truly considered everything to make the weekend incredibly special for Maria!
We initially connected with Maria when Kristen photographed her sister’s wedding (also named Kristen… it’s a thing!). So it was so much fun getting to work with their family again and seeing them all a few years later!
Bellewood Wedding
Maria and Alex chose Bellewood Plantation in Vero Beach for their wedding. They started the day getting ready with their friends before heading over to St. Anastasia Catholic Church for their ceremony. Following that, guests were treated to an amazing cocktail hour back at the venue complete with cocktails and a mariachi band! The tented reception was decorated with farmwood tables, greenery and acrylic details. But the donut wall was definitely a huge hit with everyone!
After sharing their first dance, they dined on an amazing dinner from Bonner Mobile Bar! Guests danced throughout the evening before sharing a sparkler cake cutting with the couple!
Since Maria is a teacher, they’re waiting until the summer for their honeymoon – and they’re debating between St. Lucia or Greece! I can’t wait to see what they decide!
