Betsy and Julian were the last of a crazy wedding weekend for me! I highly recommend not booking three weddings in a single weekend, let alone one of those weddings being in DC. But, there was no way that I was going to miss out on wedding 2.

0 for Betsy and Julian. They originally booked me for wedding 1.

0 two years ago, but due to COVID they put a halt to their wedding planning and cancelled temporarily. In July of this year they reached out again with the news they had set a new wedding date… for November in D.C.

I had back to back weddings in Orlando Friday and Saturday, so I sent out Kellen to cover Betsy and Julians wedding weekend until I could make it there for the morning of the wedding! One of my first ever employees, Reema, lives in D.C. and was more than happy to be our hosts while we were there (I like to joke that I brought her out of wedding-retirement now that’s she’s a successful food and travel photographer)! On Saturday, Reema and Kellen met up with Betsy and Julian for a chilly sunrise engagement session at the Lincoln Memorial. Then later that night they went to The Georgetown Club to photograph the rehearsal dinner. I arrived on Sunday morning just in time to prepare for their Four Seasons wedding (if you follow me on instagram you may have noticed my crushed engagement ring – which was all thanks to a heavy camera bag and the Southwest overhead compartment). Their wedding day was a perfect mix of classic and modern. They incorporated traditional Jewish ceremonies like the Ketubah, bedeken and seven circles. Betsy had a gorgeous gown designed by Rita Vinieris (Rivini) from Kleinfeld’s NYC with a statement bow on the back. Miami-native Julian went with the classic black tux paired with Hermes cufflinks.

While we were taking pictures out front of the hotel we ran into NBA Legend Marques Johnson who was there for the Bucks championship game! He was kind enough to take a picture with Betsy and Julian, which was definitely a highlight of their day!

Well, until the after-party when when a few players joined them! (I’d love to take credit for any of those later photos but it’s all well-documented through selfies on Twitter!)

Per the couples request – I made sure Kellen went and saw a little bit of DC on Monday before our flight home. We went to the National Museum of American History, but we definitely will have to go visit soon to see more of D.C. and grab some drinks with Betsy and Julian!
