Married in historic venues in dating back to the mid-1800’s, this Philadelphia wedding was a stunning collection of style, history and love!
Historic Philadelphia wedding at Union Trust
September 22, 2018 | Ross & Jules
When I heard Jules and Ross were saying their vows in Philly, I knew I had to get out and see the city for myself! I usually never get the chance to explore when shooting a destination wedding, but Lacey and I checked into the prettiest hotel ever (with views of City Hall from the 16th floor) and headed out for some sight-seeing. We hopped onto the Big Red Bus Tour, visited the Barnes Museum, and even managed to get our hands on some Philly Cheesesteaks! Somehow the two of us were able to see the best parts of Philadelphia all by location scouting before the big day!
The Venues
This stunning couple had a historic, chic wedding from start-to-finish. Jules walked down the aisle to her groom in an elegant, fit-and-flare Berta gown. Ross was ecstatic and I donโt think he stopped smiling for the rest of the night! The jaw-dropping Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul was glowing during the entire ceremony. This historic church was built in 1846 by a 25-year old Philadelphia architect (so cool, right?!). I couldn’t believe that we’d be photographing such a stunning Cathedral!
The venue envy doesnโt end there, though. Jules and Ross had their reception at the newly renovated Union Trust. This building, in the heart of the city, used to be The Union Trust Bank. It was built in 1888 and has extremely tall, engraved ceilings that totally blew us away. The bride and groom made their grand entrance on the mezzanine overlooking all of their favorite
people. The bridesmaids were styled in sophisticated champagne gowns which completely worked with the classic feel of the wedding. Their band, CTO Midtown Express, was a local Philly band that kept the good vibes coming all night. They mixed genres and generations that the guests loved.
Our Vendors
But I can’t begin to give credit for their day without first recognizing the incredible vendors who made this day happen! From keeping us all on time to making sure every detail was in place – the team from The Styled Bride was an absolute joy to work with! The flowers from Ferox Studio were beautiful and aromatic, and the cake was delicious. Every element of Jules bridal style was perfectly put together thanks to Beke and the team from Salon d’Artiste – who glammed the ladies to flawless perfection!
Jules and Rossโs wedding was one for the books! After the wedding, they jetted off to Europe to enjoy their honeymoon in some of my favorite places – like Positano and Greece!
