Christen and David’s Four Seasons Orlando interfaith wedding was all about family. Two lawyers, two families and one very full weekend. I loved every minute of it.

A weekend of birthdays at Four Seasons Orlando

The celebration started the night before at The Lakehouse. Their welcome party doubled as a birthday party! David was about to turn 60, and his mom, Rose, was about to turn 95. They share the very same birthday. Two cakes rolled out after dinner, one with NYT puzzle details and one with sports and history books. What a sweet way to kick off the weekend.

Blending two families

Their wedding party was small and full of heart. Christen’s daughter stood beside her as maid of honor. David’s brother and Christen’s son stood with him. And the littles in the wedding party stole the show on their way down the aisle.

We kept things simple before the ceremony. It was just Christen and David for their first look and some quiet portraits together. Family and wedding party photos came after the vows, when everyone could relax.

A Four Seasons Orlando interfaith wedding ceremony

Before the ceremony, their families gathered in the Boardroom to sign the ketubah. Then guests found their seats on King Meadow Lawn, facing the woods. Fairbanks Florist dressed the chuppah in blush and ivory blooms.

David walked down the aisle with his mom. Christen followed with her dad to “Something Good” from The Sound of Music. Rabbi Sanford Olshansky led a ceremony that honored both of their backgrounds. David’s late father had a place under the chuppah too, through his tallit. David broke the glass. Then they headed back up the aisle to “Nothing Can Stop Us Now” from Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Cocktails on the Lady Palm Lawn

Guests sipped Florida Breeze cocktails on the lawn. The mirrored seating chart from Lettering by Lee Ann had florals climbing up one side. Their guest book was a Disney animation coffee table book, the first of a few Disney touches.

A Four Seasons Orlando interfaith wedding reception

The grand staircase brought so much warmth to this Four Seasons Orlando interfaith wedding. Inside, the ballroom glowed with candlelight, gold chargers and tall garden centerpieces in blush and green. The aisle florals moved to the guest tables, and the chuppah flowers lined the stage. Their first dance was to “Our Love Is Here to Stay.”

Then came one of my favorite moments. David danced with his mom to “Through the Years,” and halfway through, Christen and her dad joined in. Right after, Mickey and Minnie surprised the room! A hora, a dress change and Blonde Ambition kept the dance floor packed for the rest of the night.

It was another dreamy day with Michele Butler Events. Michele’s team thought of every detail for this Four Seasons Orlando interfaith wedding. If you love a Jewish wedding at this resort, take a peek at this Garden Inspired Jewish Wedding.

Christen and David, thank you for letting me be part of your family’s celebration. And happy birthday to David and Rose!
