This Dr. Phillips Center rooftop wedding was a full circle moment for Madison and her family. Her dad was part of the original team behind the Dr. Phillips Center, and she grew up going backstage at Broadway shows. Madison and Trent first dreamed of eloping in the mountains. Instead, they made her dad a deal. If he could make a wedding at DPC happen, they would do the whole big thing. He did! Whitney and Gabby from our KWP Masters team photographed the day, and I love every frame.

Private vows at the Grand Bohemian

Madison got ready at the Grand Bohemian Hotel with bow heels, pearls and a sparkly gold clutch. Her pearl necklace is a replica of Jackie Kennedy’s wedding necklace, borrowed from Trent’s stepmom, Fredia. Her engagement ring holds the original diamond from Trent’s late mother.

They shared a first look in the hotel’s piano lounge and read private vows from matching vow books. Then they walked across the street to DPC, laughing the whole way through the crosswalk. Madison also had a gift for her dad: a handkerchief with a Wilco lyric, signed “love, #81.” It’s his nickname for her, from their favorite song on a mix CD they played on every car ride.

A Dr. Phillips Center rooftop wedding ceremony

Guests gathered for this Dr. Phillips Center rooftop wedding with the downtown Orlando skyline all around them. A string quartet played “Book of Love” for Madison’s entrance. It’s the song from the Scrubs finale, and they watched that show religiously while she was in nursing school. JF Events and Flowers lined the aisle with olive ribbon and framed the altar with calla lilies and green hydrangea. The ring exchange was full of laughs, and the recessional was full of cheers.

Dr. Phillips Center rooftop wedding reception details

Inside, the reception glowed in olive, sage, black, white and gold. Their cats starred in the details! Guests ordered from Basil’s Bar and sipped Olive’s Espresso Martini. Two cat figurines topped the cake from Sugar Sugar Cake Boutique, too.

A projection over the bar read “How wonderful life is while you’re in the world.” It’s from “Your Song,” which Trent sang at karaoke seven years ago. Madison has known since she was 12 that it would be her wedding song. Of course, it was their first dance. Later, Trent hopped behind the bar to shake Madison a martini.

Second look and a private last dance

After dinner and toasts, Madison changed into a beaded Bronx and Banco gown for the party. Power Entertainment DJ packed the checkered dance floor all night. To close it out, the room cleared for a private last dance with the city lights behind them. For more downtown views, see this Chic downtown Dr. Phillips Center Wedding with Rooftop Cocktails.
