Emerald Bay Bahamas Elopement

I love getting to shoot destination weddings, but this Bahamas elopement has to be one of my very favorites! I love intimate weddings, and with a guest list of roughly 5 people, I knew it would be special!

When Lauren and Harrison decided on a destination wedding in the Bahamas, it didn’t come easy! Going from a secret island getaway to including both sets of parents took a little convincing, but eventually they gave in and selected Sandals Emerald Bay in the Grand Exumas, Bahamas for their wedding! They flew over Florida photographers and destination wedding experts, Kristen Weaver Photography, to join them on their trip – where they planned a casual beach ceremony, cocktails and romantic Day After photoshoot! The usual sunny and tropical atmosphere was hit with an unusual hurricane-force storm the day of their wedding, pushing back their “I do’s” for several hours. With a slight break in rain and waves crashing the shore, they were married ocean-front on the exotic Exumas beach.During their trip, they also swam with the pigs, visited private islands around the mainland and enjoyed a quiet honeymoon together before returning to their home in Virginia.
