As I usually do with most of my clients, before scheduling their engagement session, I generally ask them “What would you do if you had the whole day to yourselves?” – and that’s how our ideas start taking form! When Elaine and I were chatting about her relationship with Kaleb, she really mulled over the perfect engagement location. Then one day, I got an email from her that might as well have started with Eureka! She found the perfect spot! While spending a day together in a vintage record store, Elaine and Kaleb, who both work in music and audio engineering, decided THAT was where they had to have their session!
As avid music lovers, they could literally spend hours together talking about music, listening to music and arguing over who has better taste in music. So there you have it. The perfect engagement session.
But Elaine couldn’t get past some of the outdoor locations she had been scouting – so we happily started off in one of the most mosquito-ey locations ever.
Seriously, I still have scars on my legs!
At first I was a little skeptical about my ability to shoot an engagement session the day after returning from my 2 week long tour of Jamaica, Jacksonville, Ft. Lauderdale, Los Angeles and San Francisco; but showing up at the shoot with a large cup of Sweet Tea from Chick-Fil-A (which I later set on a tree, which then dumped all over the ground… fantastic) pretty much had me super excited to get right back in to the swing of things here at home!
And as a quick aside, welcome to my new blog design!
Anthony and I have been working on this new design since launching my portfolio website this past fall. I wanted something a little more simple and straight-forward to go along with my overall brand. So we hope you enjoy :)
