Ashley and Chris shared their modern pink wedding day with family and friends, starting with a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. James Cathedral, and followed by a contemporary reception at Dr. Phillips Center in downtown Orlando!

I first met Ashley and Chris back in 2017 when they wanted to do a maternity session for Ashley! They were pregnant with their first baby, Hunter! So I feel a little bit like I’ve gotten to watch them grow up together over the past 4 years! Ashley and Chris first met back in 2015 through a mutual friend. He instantly won Ashley over by drawing a little picture of them fishing together on a cocktail napkin! Fast forward (a little past the birth of their son) to 2018 when they were on a family trip to Kentucky for a wedding. Surrounded by friends and family, Chris proposed to Ashley!
Ashley knew the exact date she wanted to celebrate their wedding. February 22 has had special meaning in her life as it celebrates the life of her late grandfather. She knew that she wanted her wedding on that date, and especially that she wanted the ceremony to be dedicated to him!
Dr. Phillips Center Reception
One of the things I loved was that Ashley and Chris had a lot of DIY infused in to their wedding day – namely, the large floral chandelier that hung at Dr. Phillips in their ballroom! I honestly had my doubts when Ashley told me that she was planning to build her own reception chandelier, but I loved seeing how well it came together! Kristin, from Our DJ Rocks, set the scene with a light-up dance floor where Ashley and her dad did a surprise dance (complete with light-up shoes)!
We finished the evening with some beautiful night shots on the roof of DPAC overlooking downtown!
These guys ran up to us mid-portraits and said they were doing a scavenger hunt and got extra points for a photo with a bride and groom! I’m hoping they won :)
