Yes, you read that right! Jackie and Joey got married at the Garden Villa with just 5 weeks of planning! Insane, right? But it can be done and she did it with grace. I actually met up with Jackie, Joey and their two dogs, Henry and Olive, at Alfond Inn just a few days before their wedding. They wanted to get familiar with being in front of the camera and how I directed them. I’m so happy they did that because that is sooo important to us photographers and ultimately makes things go a lot smoother on the wedding day. It allows us to connect with one another on a deeper level and kind of relaxes everyones nerves!
They had a minimalistic, modern wedding which was similar to their rooftop engagement session near Alfond Inn (peep our instagram). We started the day off at Alfond Inn where they got ready before heading to the Garden Villa. After saying hi and gathering rings, vow books and other details I began photographing what we call layflats. I kept it simple with an editorial feel. When you scroll down you’ll see more than just bride and groom rings. Jackie wanted to incorporate her grandparents rings so I thought it would be sweet to photograph all the rings together. She later added them to her bouquet.
As I was photographing details, Jackie had her seamstress making any necessary alterations before she walked down the aisle! Most brides would be losing their mind, but not Jackie…Jackie was the calmest bride I have ever worked with. I mean with 5 weeks of planning and getting your dress altered the same day as your wedding, I’d say that’s impressive and very inspiring. They were truly just happy to get married and everything else was a bonus. After leaving Alfond Inn, the “getting ready tribe” took a bus down to the Garden Villa. There, they had their closest friends and family attend and one even officiated their wedding.
