McKee Botanical Gardens

I absolutely love shooting weddings in different venues – and this was my first time photographing McKee Botanical Gardens! Besides being super toasty (hello, Florida), this was such a beautiful location for Erica and Austin’s spring wedding! First, let me introduce you to this dynamic duo:
Erica and Austin were moving in to their dorms at UCF (just a couple doors down from each other – much to Erica’s dads dismay). A few days later, Erica was in line at Starbucks and noticed Austin behind her. They got to chatting and realized they were both Microbiology majors! After walking to Chemistry together and bumping in to each other at Starbucks, they formed a bit of a routine. One day, Erica was running late to class. Not seeing her in line at her usual time, Austin ordered her Starbucks and had it waiting for her in class! She knew he was a total keeper at that very moment.
Years later, while Erica was finishing her rotation at Memorial Sloan-Kettering,ย a friend invited her out for dinner and asked her to meet up with her. When Erica arrived at their meeting spot,ย she was definitely shocked to see Austin standing there! He had flown in from Jacksonville to surprise her! He walked with her through Central Park, to “their” spot – a ย place where they have sat countless times before to look at the city skyline – and proposed!
So how do you top a perfect proposal? With a beautifully designed wedding! She worked with Rachel from An Affair to Remember to create an organic outdoor celebration complete with ivy garlandsย andย the most beautiful floral bouquets I have ever seen! I loved the mix of sequin linens and wood tables – creating a romantic rustic feeling! They danced under the stars (and market lights) until it was time to leave and start their new forever!
