Mission Inn Marina Wedding
April 11, 2015 | Keely and Peter
One of my favorite spring weddings would have to be Keely and Peter’s wedding at Mission Inn Marina and Howey-in-the-Hills, FL. After postponing their celebration just a few months to welcome to birth of their first baby (a beautiful little girl named Parker), we were ready for a gorgeous April wedding on the lake!
Keely and I actually met back in 2008 at one of my very first weddings that I photographed! She was a bridesmaid in Courtney and Greg’s wedding, so she definitely had a first-hand look at how I worked! When she got engaged, she contacted me about doing their Miami engagement session and then their wedding. It was my first time meeting Peter, and I knew immediately why Keely was his perfect match! They truly seem to compliment each other – and now seeing them as first time parents, Parker is so lucky to have a mom and dad who love her so much!
The weather was a little stressful all day – and we went back and forth on keeping the ceremony outside when a huge storm rolled through during pre-ceremony formals. But luckily, the weather-keepers had a beautiful sky in mind for their ceremony and we were able to keep their original plans! They said their I Do’s under a beautiful custom made wooden altar draped with white linen and strands of roses and ivy. They had a sweetly decorated tented dinner with sequin linens, driftwood centerpieces and ivy. But my favorite detail was the escort cards – a magnetic metal board was adorned with hand-made paper flower magnets to hold each guest’s name. They also had a paper flower backdrop for the cake, which moved to the photobooth during the reception!
