There is something slightly amazing about a couple who travels from London to Florida for their beautiful beachside destination wedding. Add in an entire guest list from all parts of the world (and none from the US) – Nigeria, London, Canada, Egypt, Zambia, South Africa – and you have one absolutely stunning event rich in culture, family and some good old fashioned Florida sunshine!
I first met Kuksy and Tolu when they were visiting to plan their wedding. Kuksy had confessed to following me on Facebook since around the same time I started my business! We met at a frozen yogurt place by my house and chatted for hours about their wedding plans and their super fun family and friends!
Fast forward a year later and I’m hanging out in Naples with Kuksy and Tolu for the most gorgeous sunset after their wedding. The Beach House was washed with a warm orange glow and huge windows overlooking the stunning ocean sunset.
Their reception surprise was an outfit change to traditional Nigerian wedding attire and was definitely one of the evening’s highlights!
And as if this wasn’t good enough, following their cruise honeymoon we met back in Orlando for a paint-throwing Trash the Dress session and some amazing 4 Rivers BBQ! I’ll be featuring that session on the blog tomorrow!

If I had to describe my wedding I’d call it an ‘Afro-Queen Beach Party’!
‘Afro’ to represent how we are both African because of our roots and where we come from (Nigeria / Zambia);
‘Queen’ to represent England because that’s where we have chosen to make our home in our dear Queen’s land;ย
‘Beach’ to represent our love of travel
‘Party’ well…need I say more? Who doesn’t love a good party?
The ceremony will be very religious as we are both Christians and religion plays an important part in both us and our families lives. The majority of the guests will be dressed in very native attire so expect lots of vibrant colors and amazing outfits!! The cocktail and reception will be full of good hearty beach BBQ kind of food, lots of drink flowing and a very party atmosphere. Africans love to dance! I dare you to try and out dance anyone!
