Ellen and Heather’s wedding at Luxmore Grande Estate was nothing short of a real life fairytale. Going into this wedding was unlike any that I have experienced before, but with COVID-19 this wedding season is especially different from what I am used to. Ellen and Heather hired me to be their photographer two weeks prior to the wedding day! Coming into the wedding this late in the planning process is not exactly typical! But thankfully, Heather (being the detail-oriented human that she is) provided me with every last detail I could possibly need to prepare for their wedding day. From letting me know about all the sweet personal details that would be included throughout the day, to a hand painted layout of their ceremony space. In the short period of time I got to know these ladies before their wedding day I already knew I was going to adore them, especially due to our mutual love of cats.
Ellen and Heather started their fairytale wedding day by getting ready in the same room, but then went their separate ways to get dressed before their first look. Heather wore a gorgeous Hayley Paige ballgown complete with Jimmy Choo Cinderella shoes and a Maria Elena Tiara. Ellen wore a custom Leonardo 5th Ave. suit with an engraved gold pocket watch, a piece of Heather’s dress used as a ribbon in her hair, and Angela Scott shoes. They used the library at Luxmore to display all things Harry Potter, and special little pieces of their lives together. At the ceremony they wrote personal vows to each other and did a hand fasting ceremony. To make the day feel like even more of a fairytale a four piece quartet played music from Disney movies, musicals, and of course – Harry Potter.
The day ended with a private last dance to ‘Once upon a December’ from Anastasia and a sparkler exit.
Although the wedding day was especially beautiful, my friendship with these 2 wonderful women has been even more special! I’ve loved getting to know them and can’t wait to see them again! Rumor has it we’re planning a session together with their cats – and if you know me, you know how fun this is going to be!
