I first met Olivia as an associate of one of my favorite event planning companies in Orlando, An Affair to Remember. I first met Steven at a birthday party for his niece, who happens to be the daughter of his sister, who happens to be one of the owners of An Affair to Remember, and is also named Kristen (following?). So when Kristen J. asked me to help her plan the surprise proposal for her brother and Olivia, I was totally in! We started by posting a fake casting call on my KWP Facebook Business page looking for a couple for a “special” engagement session!
Kristen J. convinced Olivia to “apply” (meanwhile, I’m having to tell everyone who emailed me about that it was just a set-up!), and we scheduled everything from her wardrobe, hair and makeup, and all the perfect props for a perfect picnic proposal.
As we were shooting, I casually mentioned the “code phrase” that we needed a ring to make this engagement shoot a little more realistic. This was Steven’s cue… but no one expected Olivia (helpful as she is, and probably in event planner mode) to chime in that she had a gold ring in her jewelry bag we could use. Everyone sort of stared at each other for a minute, so I broke the silence with an awkward… “Anyone ELSE have a ring for Olivia?”
Steven got on his knee and asked Olivia to marry her. Cue giant (loud) confetti cannons and some tears – and now we’re ready to plan Olivia and Steven’s wedding!
A special thanks to these amazing vendors, who made this the most amazing day for Steven and Olivia!

This was the shot I took right before asking if anyone had a ring for Olivia to make the shoot a little more realistic…
