Pinnacle Golf Club Wedding

I can’t believe how full circle things become! For my second time shooting a Pinnacle Golf Club wedding, I was excited that it was for one of my favorite families! I originally met Alyssa when she was a junior in high school. I had the honor of photographing her sister’s wedding in Cincinnati several years ago, and their mom asked if I wouldn’t mind photographing Alyssa and her best friend, Logan’s, senior photos while I was in town!
Although I absolutely loved working with her sister, Sarah – I think I actually spent the most time with Alyssa that week! So when she contacted me and said she had gotten engaged (to her high school boyfriend, Adam, who I had also met at Sarah’s wedding) I couldn’t have been more excited for them!
When she also said she had selected Pinnacle Golf Club as her venue – I was even more excited! I had photographed one wedding there before – which happened to be for one of MY best friend’s wedding!
So here we are – photographing one of my senior client’s weddings.
Oh man. There isn’t much that makes you feel older :)
A secret relationship
Alyssa and Adam have an adorable “story of us”! They met when Alyssa was in grade school on Yahoo Messenger!
I’m totally serious. Adam was an older high school boy and Alyssa had messaged him one day. After about 8 months of talking, they were allowed to officially “date” when she got to high school. Her parents weren’t super excited about the 3 year age difference, but I’m pretty certain they warmed up to him quickly when they realized what an awesome guy he is! Now, having dated since 2008, they were ready for their next journey together!
At their annual Christmas Cookie Baking day in 2015, Adam called Alyssa over to the Christmas tree to look at an ornament that read “We’re engaged!” with the date and their names.
“I can usually read Adam but I had no idea we were getting engaged that day!ย It was full blown tears for everyone in the room.”
The wedding day
For their wedding day, they chose picturesque Pinnacle Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio. The venue has a relaxed garden feel with a brand new area for their ceremonies! The location is perfect and the landscape is absolutely stunning – with a creek, lush floral and brick accents.
They chose a bold color palette of fuchsia, navy and gray.
Alyssa selected a form-fitting lace gown with jeweled belt accent. Everything had a really classic upscale feel, and their 200 guests enjoyed a mix of country and rap music all evening (honestly, so funny to me! What a mix! But it seriously perfectly matches their personalities!)
Following their wedding, the couple jetted off to Antigua for a relaxing honeymoon at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa.
