This trip was a special one for many reasons. One of that being I got to visit my sister and her husband who now reside in Northern California. This was also the trip my husband and I got to travel with the future Mr. and Mrs. Johnston for their engagement session! Most importantly, this was the trip that Stephanie and Max got married. They are California locals so I don’t get to see them often but I was so excited to be a part of the San Francisco wedding! I shot their engagement session last year at one of the most beautiful spots, Carmel by the Sea. Although I think we brought the Florida heat with us!

Gabby and I woke up the day of their wedding feeling creative and excited to see all their details come together. With as big as California is, ironically the wedding took place only a few miles away from my sisters house at The Five Willows!

The Five Willows

The venue was surrounded by beautiful green mountains and horses from the on property stables, but the beauty didn’t stop there. Stephanie did a lot of DIY projects and it was seamless! They had colorful florals and minimalistic details spread throughout their wedding. Their florals were hues of pinks, purples and yellows that complemented their invitations perfectly!

Because it was so hot they had cute (and very on trend) umbrellas to keep everyone in the shade. Max and Stephanie are playful, flirty and love the outdoors so their wedding day mimicked just that! Stephanie walked down the aisle with her pup Little Max while “big” Max and Opal waited for them at the end. It was such a sweet moment!

The Ceremony

The aisle was framed with gorgeous floral arrangements running down each row. The two are very trendy and wanted to add something unique to their ceremony. They decided to have their friend, who was also their officiant, stand at the end of the aisle rather than next to the couple. That way the two could look out amongst their guests and really be submerged in the moment.

Their reception was beautifully lit with the sun peeping through the oning. Guests were dressed to the nine in vibrant colors to blend in with the color scheme of the wedding. Since they are a playful couple they incorporated corn hole and a fun Photo Booth for guests to enjoy! After a yummy bbq buffet from the local Taste of Texas Barbecue, Stephanie changed into a more relaxed slinky dress. It was off the shoulders and had slits going up each sleeve! It was the perfect party dress to end the night in! Overall this San Francisco wedding was one for the books! We had an amazing time capturing something new and sharing the love of Max, Stephanie and their two fur babies, Little Max and Opal!
