Get excited, because I have a good one for you tonight!
I can’t remember the exact day that I “met” Jenny, but it had something to do with Model Mayhem somewhere around 2006ish. At that time in my life, I had just met Anthony and was pursuing a career in advertising, while filling my creative void with learning how to shoot studio fashion work. My portfolio back then was virtually laughable, until I connected with a young retoucher living in New York.
After she put her magic touch on one of my pictures, I was sold on her amazing talent. But it wasn’t until after she moved to Deland (literally down the road from me in Orlando), that I found such a great friend! Jenny and I have exchanged some of the funniest emails, desperate “help” flags and random laughter over how easily I seemed to mess up even the simplest things.
When Jenny and Dave got engaged, I was knee-deep in my new photography venture and honored that she asked me to shoot her Islamorada wedding!
I think what made this wedding so special for everyone that came was that they all had a hand in making the day perfect for Jenny and Dave! From the food to the flowers, we all pitched in!
The night before the wedding, I found myself sitting in the kitchen of their rented beach house, trying to come up with the perfect centerpieces.
My semester of floral design in college did not prepare me for designing the decor for a friend’s wedding, that’s for sure!
Now, to share some of the amazing photos – and so many amazing details! [love!]

The “back yard” of their beach house venue was so amazing and serene!
This necklace was a gift from Dave to Jenny
Getting used to “island lingo” was the most difficult for me! Everything is labeled by mile markers. Jenny’s invites were no different!
Photobomb! Thanks Anthony :)
After the groom fell….we just left him there.
Not having a professional cake-cutter = just take what you want :)
Jenny’s brother put on an awesome fire-twirling show for us!
