Big Sur California Wedding

Brianna & Ryan’s wedding was straight out of a dream – they were married on the scenic cliffs of Big Sur, California! Ryan, who owns his own custom homebuilding company, and Brianna, an interior designer, opted for the perfect destination getaway for their wedding – combining the redwoods and cliffs overlooking the Pacific, with the peaceful quiet and amazing food of Northern CA.
Anthony and I were on the road for about 3 weeks when we arrived in San Jose and made the drive out, past stunningย Carmel, and in to Big Sur! Although I’ve been to Northern CA quite a few times, nothing has compared to my first trip to this amazing little town! Our cabin was absolute perfection – heated floors and our own firepit for smores – but nothing compared to the stars we saw… I mean, seriously – it was one of the most amazing sights and I would gladly welcome a trip back!
After their beautiful ceremony and a picture perfect golden sunset (followed by an equally perfect pastel dusk), we capped off the night with some dancing, a fire pit with gourmet smores and pizza, and lots of stargazing.
We inadvertentlyย crashed their rehearsal dinner (but seriously, best food ever – the Deviled eggs with prosciutto was incredible), and then celebrated with them the day after their wedding at a (very) windy Pacific beach and in the redwoods for a trash the dress! We just wanted to thank them for being such gracious and fabulous hosts and allowing us to celebrate along with their family and friends! It’s such a beautiful thing to be involved in destination weddings – we really feel like ย we become family for the day – and that makes me so excited to do what I do!

A family friend started the Lucky Tornado wine … and the story is pretty amazing… you’ll have to check it out!
Most of my clients know I’m not a huge fan of heights… but here I was, sitting on a rock,
on a cliff, with trees and the Pacific crashing hundreds of feet below me….

The next morning, we enjoyed a fabulous brunch with their family and then set off for their Day After session
at the Pacific! It looks serene, but it was soooo cold windy!
