Jewel Toned Luxury Wedding
January 21, 2017 ย | ย Kristen and Matt Guettler
What an absolute dream this wedding was! Kristen and Matt have never disappointed me when it’s come to their style – from their glamping sunset engagement session to their jewel-toned luxury wedding with crazy beautiful floral design – every detail has always been immaculately planned and executed! This couple is seriously a photographer’s dream!
Matt and Kristen have actually known each other since elementary school! Although they weren’t romantically involved at the time, their paths always seemed to cross. After attending rival colleges (Kristen at FSU and Matt at UF), they both moved back home to Fort Pierce, where they reconnected! This is probably the sweetest thing I’ve heard – but in Kristen’s words: “I’ve always thought Matt was a great catch and it was like an epiphany one day when I realized I wanted him to be MY catch.”
And there you have it. Finally connected after a lifetime knowing each other, Matt proposed at Pine Creek Sporting Club at sunset during a picnic he made. The ring was his mother’s diamond with a setting Matt picked out. With a mouth full of cheese, Kristen said yes, and the planning began!
About the wedding day
Pine Creek Sporting Club was the perfect choice for their venue. Matt’s family is building a new home there, he proposed there, we shot their engagement session there – and now their wedding reception! I love when couples choose places that are sentimental – because it will always be a special place for them!
It’s not fair to talk about this wedding without first saying that there was a 40 person wedding party including the bride and groom! 14 bridesmaids, 14 groomsmen and 10 adorable kids walked down the aisle with Kristen and Matt (most of them are actually family!). Although it can be daunting at times for a photographer, it is so special to see so many people supporting them for their wedding day! Over 300 guests partied in to the wee hours of the night under a starlit tented reception with black candles, pear and pomegranate centerpieces, naked cake and vintage furniture.
As a special surprise – Kristen has a family Lebanese band that played for an hour for the guests! It was a crazy fun celebration of her heritage, complete with an incredible belly-dancer! Guests joined them for the traditional Lebanese Mountain Dance before the dance floor opened to upbeat drumming and Arabic music!
Of all the beautiful details of their day, my favorite with the bride’s personal style! She wore her naturally curly hair down with only a veil, had an open neckline on her lace Tara Keely gown, and carried a bouquet of bright jewel toned flowers with an organic “fresh-picked” vibe!
After our 14-hour day we headed home to Orlando while they jetted off to a “favorite cities” 2-week honeymoon – touring San Francisco, Seattle and Las Vegas!
