Okay, confession time. This Carmel engagement session has been sitting in my files way too long, and I’m finally sharing it! Gabby and Trey love the mountains and the ocean equally. So when we were in Northern California for a wedding, we snuck in their session on the coast near Carmel. Honestly, I don’t think we could have picked a better spot.
We started on a little dirt trail above the water, tucked between green hills and rocky coves. Gabby wore a sage green knit dress, and Trey looked so sharp in his navy blazer. Even the yellow wildflowers along the path matched them perfectly.

Then they swapped into cozy sweaters, kicked off their shoes and just played. They ran, twirled and left footprints all over the sand. Trey gave Gabby a piggyback ride, and neither of them could stop laughing. After that, they snuggled up against the rocks, which gave me some of my favorite close-ups from the whole day. We also wandered over to a rocky creek bed where they hopped from stone to stone hand in hand.

Wildflowers to wrap up their Carmel engagement session
Finally, we climbed up into the hills for one last outfit. Pink and yellow wildflowers covered every slope, and the ocean peeked out behind them. The light up there was so soft that everything felt a little dreamy. Truly, this part of their Carmel engagement session was my favorite!
That’s what I love about a Carmel engagement session. You get mountains, ocean and flowers all in one place, plus a little adventure. And Carmel-by-the-Sea is right there for coffee afterward. If you love the California coast too, check out this Torrey Pines engagement in San Diego.
Gabby and Trey, thanks for being so patient with me and for being up for an adventure. I’m so glad these are finally out in the world!
