St. Pete Wedding at the Vinoy
April 3, 2013ย |ย Megan and Aaron
Megan met Aaron in elementary school. Seriously. Megan had a crush on this cute high school boy named Aaron :) You wouldn’t have thought much would come out of a childhood crush, but here we are, years later, celebrating their union!
Everything about their wedding was personalized – from the Southern monograms to the ceremony venue (their childhood school/church), and they enlisted the help of uber-event planner Jackie Ross from Table 6 Productions to assist in their vision! Megan and Aaron are your typical St. Petersburg couple. They love the water and everything about their hometown! Aaron and his friends all wear those cool boating sunglasses and carry guns (lol), and Megan is your quintessential sorority sister that loves Kate Spade and Lily Pulitzer! Their preppy wedding was complete with Navy and hot pink and lots of lace! I even got to celebrate their wedding with my ALL TIME favorite band, The Afterwhile!!
In the words of The Beatles, and fittingly, their first dance:
Well, she was just 17,
You know what I mean,
And the way she looked was way beyond compare.
So how could I dance with another
When I saw her standin’ there.
Today is the new “Mrs. Doby’s” birthday, so give her a little shout if you see her poking around the blog, my facebook page or instagram tonight!

Guns and knives and sunglasses that hang from your neck. I think it’s a Southern thing :)
After the cards were written, the presents arrived! Pants-less Megan was kind of excited!
Sharing a sweet moment with her mom and sister before we left for the church
I loved how excited the flower-girls were! After showing us a ballet routine they made up together,
they watched Megan get ready with such sweet curiosity!
Megan and Aaron were married in the church connected to their elementary school, Canterbury in St. Pete.
Aaron’s ’65 Mustang was the perfect send-off to their reception. Unless you were driving behind them,
and had to dodge flying coke-cans the whole way back to the Vinoy… like me.
Their first dance to The Beatles “Saw Her Standing There” was a perfect fit!
And the perfect candle-pass with her Kappa Delta sisters. AOT
