Niagara On The Lake Wedding
June 1, 2012ย |ย Courtney and Porya
Get your Poutine and Maple Leaves ready! In honor of the Olympics (not really) I’m posting this amazing International wedding of my dear friends in Canada!
After fellow Facebook junkie, Courtney, found me through another one of my brides – it was love at first Skype! Also a photographer, Court had high standards for her vineyard wedding, and I had the honor and responsibility to capture her amazing work through my camera. Simply, I was in love. Soft pinks and grays highlighted by pastel wild-flowers, blush bridesmaids gowns, custom flasks and even the smallest little detail cared for – Courtney and Porya’s wedding was a dream, tented in awesomeness and decked with chandeliers. Their wedding was also featured in Style Me Pretty!
Bride and Groom Spotlight
I always like to highlight a few must-know’s about my bride and groom – but what I found the most amazing characteristic of Courtney is what kind of friend she is. In the small amount of time I’ve known her, and mostly through Facebook, Courtney will have your back. Whether you’re a friend, family member, or random girl from Florida – she will defend you and stick up for you till the end. There are so few people in this world still willing to stick their neck out for their friends, and I’m so thankful that I can include Courtney in that group!
She’s also insanely competitive… (so before you have to go look, the most blog comments to date belong to Ashley and Roland with 34)….and has fervently stalked my Facebook Biz page to see how her teaser photos stack up in “likes” and comments to other brides’. Her brother can vouch for this!
Porya is like the calm to Courtney’s storm. He may be a little quiet, but he’s witty, sweet and puts his family first. Since Porya’s family has deep Persian roots, I loved that they incorporated the Soffreh in to cocktail hour – so they could have their vineyard wedding ceremony, and then also have their Persian ceremony! Porya’s mom narrated the ceremony and I even got to try my first Marzipan (not so great, lol)!
I can’t even begin to start talking about all of the details from this stunning wedding, so I’ll just leave some comments in the photos as I go!
And stay tuned, because I’ll also be posting some AH-MAZING photos from their Trash the Dress session where I fell down a mountain! Woohoo!
Trash The Dress Update
Courtney and Porya’s trash the dress session was so much fun! It brought the kid out in all of us – getting muddy, climbing trees, sliding down mountains. You should check it out, here :)

Porya and Courtney gave custom flasks to each of the groomsmen!
You have no idea… this WIND. Holy Canada. I mean, there’s wind, and then there’s WIND.
Soooo my favorite. Gorgeous!
The photo that sparked debate and pitchforks on Facebook….
Grandpa and the girls!
Over to the reception venue for more photos and Courtney’s gown change!
Such troopers, you could barely tell that we were out in the rain practically all day!
Prepare yourself for this reception space. It was unreal. Ready…..
It takes a real man to choreograph a first dance about a week before the wedding and tell your bride-to-be to “trust you”…..
especially when you pull out props!
Toasts. About 16. :)
Courtney and her brother (Man of Honor), Gray, were little piles of squish during their father’s toast
This is how you take a family portrait… (sorry, they asked for one, and then this happened… I couldn’t resist posting!)
June 1st was also Courtney’s mom’s birthday! So they celebrated with an amazing cake!
Love, love, love you guys :)
