Dr. Phillips Weddingย in Orlando
April 29, 2017 ย | ย Brynn and Justin
I immediately get excited whenever I get to shoot a Dr. Phillips wedding! This incredible venue always gives us the prettiest reception backdrops with floor to ceiling windows overlooking downtown Orlando! But Brynn and Justin’s perfect day didn’t come without a few hiccups along the way! And as much asย it can freak out the couple before the wedding, it’s all part of their story of forever! And I think it’s pretty important to recognize the tribulations and how we overcome them! So that all couples know that THIS is exactly why you hire professionals!
The Couple
Before we get in to all of that – let’s start with Brynn and Justin themselves! They actually attended the same high school in Oviedo, but didn’t know each other! They graduated about a year apart but didn’t realize until they ran in to each other later in life. When Justin knew he wanted to propose, he chose a trip to NYC for the big moment! But his plans got a little derailed when Brynn decided she wanted to make a pit-stop at Pier 45, instead of the quiet rose garden he pre-selected in Chelsea (their favorite area). He proposed on the Pier to a happy teary enthusiastic YES! They decided to stop by the rose garden after, which was gated and locked! So it looks like Brynn may have unknowingly saved the day after all!
The Wedding Day
Ok so back to those hiccups! In early April we all found out about a giant parade and concert happening right in front of their reception venue! There’s a beautiful lawn overlooking the building just out front where we typically love to take photos. But a lively concert, party-goers and food trucks would put a serious damper on our plans! So Brittany with Tickled Pink Brides and I concocted a plan to travel over to the beautiful Rollins campus for bridal party formals instead! ย After much re-organizing, schedule changes and phone calls, we made it happen! In the end, everything worked out perfectly – even better, if I do say so myself!
Brynn and Justin share their home with their 2 amazing pups, Hudson and Lyric! Since they came along for their engagement session, I was excited to see them again for the wedding! The wild child, Hudson, was incredibly well-behaved; and Lyric was flawless as ever!
Since Justin is in the US Navy, he surprised his grandfather by wearing his Naval uniform for the ceremony, before changing to a royal blue suit for the party! It’s the cutest “First Look” ever, and I love that we captured his reaction!
They ended the reception with a huge confetti canon and Chick-Fil-A nugget delivery!
