Dr. Phillips Centerย Wedding
March 18, 2017 ย | ย Sarah and Andy
I have been practically salivating to blog this wedding, and the day is finally here! Although I’ve photographed Dr. Phillips before, I’ve never gotten to see it like this! Sarah and Andy added an extra bonus – I have been immensely blessed to have a short year (so far) of amazing couples – and their infectious smiles and overwhelming happiness made the day even more perfect! So please enjoy this regal garden-themed Dr. Phillips Center wedding!
Hopefully Andy, or Sarah, doesn’t kill me for divulging this adorable story of how they met! Sarah had been considering moving out of state, convinced she wouldn’t find “the one” in Orlando. But Justin Timberlake and a friend managed to detour that plan! Ok, so maybe Justin wasn’t personally involved, but how often do you get to say he was ;) After sharing a photo of Andy at a JT concert,ย Sarah asked “But how tall is he?” – which is a girl after my own heart (#tallgirlproblems). Her friend’s answer was the best… “he is 5’10 with a 6′ personality”. Sense of humor and good looks – Sarah was sold.
Although everyone assumed Andy would propose on a trip to Spain, he surprised them all with a home proposal. Sarah had just gotten done working (she’s a teacher) and came home to a house of flowers and candles. Andy left his usual gym-attire and dressed up, greeting Sarah on one knee with her stunning engagement ring. A beautiful surprise in their home with their dog, Lexi.
The Wedding Day
So now I get to talk about their wedding! And it would be amiss for me not to start with their flowers!
First, Sarah chose orchids for her bouquet. She said they hold a special meaning to her, since her students often bring her orchids on special occasions. So they were incorporated in to many of the arrangements at the ceremony and reception. They also worked with their planner, Lisa Stoner, and florist, Lana, to make an incredible hanging flower installation over the dance floor. The highlight of the reception decor, this chandelier was custom-made for the bride and groom by Lana and her team!
One of my favorite, sweetest, details likely went unnoticed by most guests. On both Andy’s boutonniere and his mom’s corsage, Lana wrapped a piece of his dad’s shirts. A quietly thoughtful sentiment, Andy’s dad had unexpectedly passed away just a few short weeks before the wedding, and we know he was on everyone’s hearts that day.
The night ended with a CO2 cannon and a confetti toss on the dance floor before Andy wisked Sarah away to a mystery honeymoon! Honestly, my favorite thing when I hear about this! He told her to pack “tropical” and they were off! I was lucky enough to get on the text-chain to find out their destination… which was beautiful St. Marteen and then island hopping!
And as the mirror says weโre older
I want to look the other way
You are my life, my love, my only
And thatโs the one thing that wonโt change
