A look back at The Wright Family

With the holidays around the corner, I thought it might be fun to take a look back at one of my client’s history with us! I actually met Rachel and Jay after they were married when they asked me to photograph them and their sweet little Golden, Chance! It’s always interesting to meet clients whose weddings I didn’t shoot because you almost feel like you’re in a new relationship! Working through the awkward posing and having them try to understand my half-word expression/direction while I’m shooting… it’s definitely a task for all involved!

So I wanted to walk you through our journey a little bit! Every shoot was in their home/neighborhood so it’s become the perfect backdrop for all their life events!

I instantly fell in love with this sweet little family, and you honestly can’t help but falling in love with Chance, too!

And then they anxiously awaited Harper!

So fast forward a little bit and they contact me again… for maternity photos!! They were expecting their first baby, a little girl, due in June! This is actually one of my favorite spots in Baldwin Park to shoot – so it seemed like the perfect place for a “round two” of our time together!

And just like that, June 15th they welcomed sweet little Harper Elizabeth to their home! Chance made a re-appearance in their photos when we did a lifestyle newborn session in their home. This is definitely my favorite kind of session to shoot – lots of beautiful window light and muted colors – it was absolutely perfect and the best way to welcome Harper in to our KWP family! Chance was the perfect big brother – keeping a watchful eye on her. If we laid her on the ground, Chance laid next her. If they changed her, Chance stood watch by the crib.

So here we are! It’s December and Harper is 6 months old and just as cute as ever! We met up in Baldwin Park to enjoy the cool weather and Christmas lights along the streets. Harper was the perfect little model, completely interested in the camera clicks (and if not, we always had “blue-monkey” to entertain her!). I loved her little plaid dress and green cardigan – and those big eyes and super cute ears. I’m honestly obsessed. So of course, at the end of the shoot I demanded to get some cuddle time with the baby and Rachel even snapped a picture on her phone (which I then excitedly texted to my husband!). I know this is going to sound so nerdy, but we were stopped by a woman walking her dog and she asked if I was a professional photographer or just a friend, and Rachel excitedly said, “Both!”, and that made me so happy :)

And we couldn’t get away with missing this shot again. A dog and his baby sister. Honestly couldn’t be sweeter! Thank you SO much to Rachel and Jay for bringing me on this journey with them!
