Wedding in the Bahamas
November 4, 2012ย |ย Michelle and Patrick
Selecting favorite images from Michelle and Pat’s Bahamas wedding was sort of like deciding which kid is your favorite. Every single picture brought me right back to their gorgeous day in Nassau, driving on the wrong side of the road, with a soiree of music and celebrating their amazing wedding all over again!
Michelle’s wedding day style was classic and elegant, wearing a Monique Lhullier gown with an off-the-shoulder neckline. Patrick spiffed up rather nicely, wearing a custom-made suit.
I loved their flowers, which incorporated white and purple orchids, roses and baby’s breath (especially at the church, where the grand entrance was covered in white roses and baby’s breath!).
Michelle and Patrick stunned their wedding guests with a musical journey on their wedding day!
Getting married in the oldest church in the Bahamas (and the same church that Michelle’s parents shared their I Do’s), the ceremony featured an amazing Flutist and Bahamian choir. They performed the William and Kate version of “This is the Day the Lord Hath Made”. In great jubilation, the newlyweds were announced to a rendition of “Oh Happy Day” with tambourines as they left the church. But the party didn’t stop there, because the reception also had an amazing band AND a DJ to party through the night! But our highlight was the surprise Junkanoo Band the paraded to the tent after their first dance! I have NEVER had so much fun at a reception!
(Side note…. as Anthony and I are finally planning our own wedding, he has referenced at least 20 things from Michelle and Pat’s day that he wants to incorporate in our own… including the choir and Junkanoo band!)
Nom, Nom, Nom!
The reception food didn’t disappoint either! Taking a cue from their mix of cultures, the reception was a cocktail style with multiple stations of Pasta, Asian Flavors, Carving Stations, Salads and 3 bars. The venue, Luciano’s of Chicago in Nassau, sat on the water overlooking Atlantis and Paradise Island. The reserved bridal party sections had a modern lounge vibe, draped with sheer curtains and chandeliers.
But my favorite part of my trip to Nassau was spending the day after their wedding with this gorgeous couple. We toured some beautiful parts of the city for their Day After session and then over to the One and Only beach for some beautiful surf and sand.
I can’t wait to see Michelle and Patrick again – and thankfully I don’t have to wait too long! I’m super excited to be seeing them again in May while I’m in Nassau on my first ever, real REAL, non-working vacation!
Check out their engagement session too! :)
