Mead Gardens engagement session
I learned a few things at my Mead Gardens engagement session with Alexis and Matt. First, even in the mornings, the summer weather in Florida is absolutely brutal. Second, never sleep in your contacts.
We met up early – maybe 9am if I remember correctly – for their session. But the humidity of July hit us hard! Thankfully, although they were self-proclaimed “awkward at photos” – they were super easy to photograph! It’s a great lesson for a lot of my couples: if you feel comfortable with me, I can capture those sweet, natural moments of you together! No one is really awkward when they’re in love!
Our shoot dates were postponed a couple times thanks to rain, but the initial session was delayed a bit after an email from Alexis that Matt was having a tiny medical issue with his eye. I didn’t really think too much about it – other than that they wanted to wait until it was healed so he’d look his best for photos. BUT – when we started chatting at the shoot, I found out that he actually had gotten an infection (from what they believe was sleeping in his contacts) and now needs a full corneal transplant! OOF. So now he’s a bit of a poster-child for being healthy with your eyes! And I’m pretty sure that’s the kind of positive optimism and care for others that Alexis has always loved about him!
This incredible couple is getting married at Mission Inn Resort on December 27th, 2019! I can’t wait to see them again!
They are just such a sweet and kind couple and make my job so much fun!
Thankfully, I think we’ll have cooler weather by then, too!
I was loving Alexis’ style choice for her session!
She started with a cute cocktail dress and then changed to a casual look with jeans!
