Another wedding down this past weekend at the JW Marriott! One of our favorite things to find out about our couples is their story that brought them to their wedding day. From their first meeting, to the proposal, and how they’ve grown their lives together.
Jen and Jason are from Ohio and originally met while working at the same restaurant in college. They shared their first kiss on St. Patrick’s Day about a year later!
Jason surprised Jen on her on her birthday – which happens to fall on Christmas Day – with a vacation to Disney World. They spent the week enjoying their time together and went to every park – the whole time Jason was waiting for the perfect moment to propose (he actually carried the ring in his pocket the whole time)! It wasn’t until the last day of their trip on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom that he got down on one knee. But I’m going to let Jason take it from here – because I love this part of the story!
Jason’s Story
“On the last day the right moment finally came. Down on one knee in the middle of Main Street in the Magic Kingdom, Jen turned around and asked me if i was ok! She thought I had somehow hurt myself, then told me to ‘get up’ because ‘people are looking’! Once she realized what was happening, she said ‘YES!’ We spent the rest of the day taking bad phone pictures of her new ring all over the park!”
They planned their wedding to be an intimate destination wedding at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando. 30 guests came to town to celebrate their day with them. They chose a navy and gray color palette for the wedding party, and orchid bouquets and boutonnieres. Following a gourmet dinner and dancing, they ended the night with toasts from their friends and family!
They’ll be traveling to sunny Hawaii for the honeymoon before heading back home to Ohio!
