Top Wedding Blogs of 2017
We painstakingly curated rankings for the top 100 wedding blogs of 2017 here at KWP! A huge thanks to our intern, Gabby, for helping work on all these numbers while I was in Alaska!
How we created our rankings
First, we started with a list of the Top 100 Wedding Blogs from weddingblogs100.com (organized by BrideTide.com). From there, we added social media rankings based on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest followers. Keep in mind, we can’t determine how many followers are organic versus paid, so take that for what it’s worth! With Alexa rankings being a little deceiving with the addition of social media sites, we decided to pull the top sites and calculate their followers in thousands. We then added up social media rankings to determine the top sites!
Also, something to keep in mind is that a hard-core follower may be one unique follower across all 3 social media platforms. But realistically, with the algorithms Facebook/Instagram institute, it amplifies your chance of being seen by that bridal blog the more places they post. So for instance, I may follow Style Me Pretty on their Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook – meaning I’m one unique follower but am counted 3 times in their ranking. However, I may only see a post on my IG feed, rather than seeing it in all 3 places. Either way, they have 3 times the opportunity to reach me – so I don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing.
Here’s a shot of our raw data. I know, it’s not pretty – but excel sheets seldom are! Maybe I’ll make it prettier next year ;) We’ll see!
Using our list
We initially put this list together in the studio with contact emails and submission requirements/instructions. We plan to update this list periodically, but you’re welcome to email us directly with any blogs we may have left out! We’re debating releasing the raw data, but haven’t quite figured that out just yet. If you’re interested in receiving the date if/when we do decide to offer it, you can also email Gabby with the subject line “Raw data waiting list” and we’ll make sure you’re notified in the event we decide to offer it!
You may like to use this list for a number of reasons – keeping up with trends, submission opportunities or even for advertising. Keep in mind, the larger the blog and their following, the more valuable those positions become, and the more they can charge for things like promotions, vendor listings and advertising.
