When looking for the perfect cake for your big day, it’s incredibly important to really consider what you’re looking for. Do you want an ivory buttercream cake with gold details? Or does a whimsical four tier fondant cake catch your eye? Maybe even a rustic wedding cake covered in hydrangeas is what you’re looking for.

No matter the style, remember that you can have a tasty cake while keeping its appearance memorable- the flavor and design of the cake often work hand in hand! Here are a few of my favorite cakes from previous weddings that will hopefully give you ideas for your own wedding:

1. NAKED CAKE

I am absolutely loving this naked cake sensation, not to mention the soft pastels perfectly contrasting the rustic location of this wedding. Not a cake person? This couple decided to have a few family-recipe pies offered to guests as well!

2. COOL TOPPER

The quote topper of this cake brings a modern twist to a wonderful wedding tradition. It says enough without saying too much, all the while keeping it romantic and matching perfectly with the decor.

3. CREATIVE BACKDROP

This couple had the perfect idea when choosing to add color, without over doing it. The hand-made floral back drop accentuates the flowers on the cake to tie it all together.

4. MONOCHROMATIC

If you’re looking to use a more relaxed tone of color, this monochromatic metallic cake is a prime example. The details of the roses lay perfectly on this airbrushed rosy pink five teared cake.

6. CUPCAKES

The best part about your wedding is that you choose what you want, so why leave your options to just a cake? This couple paired cupcakes with their wedding cake for a creative and cute option for their guests.

7. UNIQUE CAKE STAND

Ditch the standard display and switch it up a bit; this mirrored table subtly and beautifully adds to the feel of the cake. To add a bit of unique artistry, this designer created a bottom cake foundation under the stand!
