All-American rainy wedding with a fairytale ending

April 7, 2018  |  Emma & Jesse

I instantly fell in love with Emma right when I met her. Beautiful, graceful and so sweet – she was looking forward to marrying Jesse and spending their lives together. We had been checking the weather constantly during the day and were so excited to see that the storms were staying away!

But what’s a wedding day without a challenge or 2? I was photographing the incredible ceremony setup on the lawn – complete with this custom designed Chuppah made of delicate flowers – when I see Jane bolting from the conservatory doors. Just then, my Dark Sky app started buzzing that we had 15 minutes before a huge storm was hitting! Cue the team! When I tell you everyone jumped in to action, it was incredible. Emma and Jesse had to make the hard decision to move the ceremony indoors, and then we all set to work breaking down (and then setting up) the ceremony. We had less than 15 minutes to move the entire thing. I still can’t believe we did it!

After signing their Ketubah, their ceremony took place under the stars of the glass ceiling in the conservatory. The mood was romantic and sweet – finishing with the breaking of the glass and a perfect kiss. Guests were escorted in to the ballroom, where the Chuppah was separated to accent the stage.

However, the surprises weren’t done yet! The couple danced to a live version of God Bless America – an ode to Jesse’s Patriotism. Guests loved it – and it was certainly a first for me!

This Philadelphia couple couldn’t have asked for a better start to their lives together, and I was so honored to be just a small part of it!
