Calling all interns! The Great Intern Search of 2010 is on!
Kristen Weaver Photography is now accepting resumes to bring on one intern approximately 5 hours/week
to join her in the quest for happiness and awesomesauce!

Who should apply? Someone who likes being paid in Sweet Tea and Experience, can social network with the best of them and has a head for marketing, fashion and photography. Must like Lady Gaga and Britney Spears music. Fun and outgoing, who wouldn’t mind having lunch out of the office once or twice and can stay organized at all times! Friendly, reliable and trustworthy. Sound like you? Keep reading!

Who you’ll be working with: Me! Kristen Weaver, owner, and obsessive-compulsive list-maker. Internationally published fashion and editorial photographer, lover of all things sweet tea and cheese, and unhealthy obsessed with fashion and romance. You’ll also be helping my other little worker-bee, Reema! You may not be there at the same time – but we’re all a team here! She second-shoots my weddings, so you may be sharing some travel time with us.

What you’ll be expected to do: Work, duh! I need help with lots of things, from marketing, archiving, answering emails and inquiries, preparing shipments, ordering prints and just keeping me sane (did I mention you must be completely organized?) You’ll also be helping me plan major photography workshops, speaking events, travel arrangements and my annual Images for a Cure event.

The benefits: As an intern, your hours aren’t limited. I’ll require about 5 hours a week of your time, but you’ll be able to join me on fashion shoots (this is a highly sought after task!) and assist me with weddings (that would be paid!) – including the ability to travel with us (this year is a big travel year… all over Florida, GA, SC and beyond – and I pick up the bill!). I’m also putting together a commission for my intern for any job you had a hand in booking. You can virtually make your own hours, and are free to work more if you’d like. Another benefit – I train you on many aspects of what I do – Studio management, workflow, retouching, shooting, planning and marketing. Every week will be something new!

You’ll also have your own work station in my office in Oviedo. You’ll have a desk and your own computer complete with everything you need for your job.

Some requirements: It’s an internship – meaning you’re ready to work and learn. You’ll be required to work your 5 hours a week, preferably one day, during the day. Because of the tight-knit office environment and extreme competition in this field, I prefer that you’re not already a working photographer, or have plans to be one in the next year or so. I know this is a super touchy area – but I’m looking for someone who is more of a marketing and studio management guru, versus a photographer in training. Again, this internship is unpaid, but you’ll have the opportunity to make money assisting at weddings and through commissions.

(If you’re a photographer looking to train with me, you may want to inquire about my Photographer’s Workshops by emailing me at [email protected])

And seriously – you must love Lady Gaga.

Programs I use (and you would also use… you should let me know what you’re familiar with and what you’re not):
Adobe Creative Suite CS4, Camera RAW, Microsoft Office, Gmail, iTunes (for Lady Gaga), ShootQ, Twitter, Facebook, WordPress

Major props if you have experience in web design, creative (graphic) design, accounting, non-profit events/fundraising or retouching.

Length of internship: not sure yet. We’ll chat about your goals and plans and make a determination from there. We’ll both mutually agree on what benefits both of us. I’m flexible.

So  …  it’s your move! Ready to apply?
