I was in need of something fresh and new, more color and lots of blooms. That is when I started shooting out ideas at the studio about finding an older couple and doing a vow renewal styled shoot. Kellen, one of the team members at the studio, was quick to volunteer her parents as the couple, according to her they are the cutest people ever (which they are). I had met her parents once before when I did Christmas Mini’s, and was totally on board using them as the couple.
We tried to figure out if we could make the shoot special. Kellen’s parents, Bob and Cindy, already passed the typical vow renewal mark of 25 years. We did some math and figured out that right between 27 and 28 years of marriage is 10,000 days. That is when this unconventional vow renewal all came together. We looped in Rae from Silk & Sabal, and managed to throw this shoot together in a little less than three weeks.
Bob and Cindy were more than excited to be part of this shoot. Cindy spent the whole day thanking everyone involved and going on about how beautiful everything was. She wore a gorgeous open back Pronovias gown from The Bridal Finery that fit her perfectly. Bob had a custom navy suit that he had worn to one of his daughters weddings, so it worked out perfectly that it went with the shoot! We thought of every cute little detail that would make this styled vow renewal perfect for them.
Do Tell created a bar sign for a custom cocktail that we requested; named “The Harriet”, which is Bob and Cindy’s dog. She also created cards for them to write sweet nothings to while they were getting ready. She even created the cake topper! It was a very sweet day, and all I can say is I can’t believe Bob and Cindy aren’t models.
