NYBFW: The Designers

In our third (and final) part of our NYBFW blog series, we are featuring some of our favorite looks from the SS18 collections! We visited designers that are staples in the Solutions salon, as well as checked out some new options for them to carry!

Now, on to the designers and our favorites from their newest collections for SS18!

Lela Rose

We started our trip on Sunday afternoon with Lela Rose. The newest collection from this designer included intricately designed embellishments, textures and illusion gloves to accent the gowns. To view their entire bridal presentation, take a look at their video (linked below). The theme of this season’s collection is “Love is Love”, which was embroidered on her signature cape in ivory. We also loved a separates pant-suit, that would make an awesome getaway outfit with a classic vintage vibe. The collection included many styles with the Lela Rose signature floral appliqués and we loved the unique addition of the pearl-encrusted off-the-shoulder gown with pearl choker detail.

Galia Lahav

Galia Lahav was a new appointment for the Solutions team. Scouting their newest collection for possible inclusion at their salon, they wanted to see these editorial designs up close to decide how it would translate to their brides. Their newest collection, “Victorian Affinity”, was the connection between vintage romantic styles and an introduction to the industrial age.

From the Designer:

These periods were characterized by changes and innovations in various fields, such as the Industrial Revolution. The day to day atmosphere was recognized with optimism, and so we added our touch of romance and admiration to the feminine body. We dedicate this collection to Jeanne Margaine-Lacroix, a designer that challenged the victorian style, in it’s era and, made a change of how we perceive femininity. A bridal gown should be treated and fitted with love and care, as carried on a bride in her wedding day, and so we bring you our perception of it. Our Victorian affinity.

Reem Acra

Known around the world for designing for glamour, Lebanese born designer Reem Acra created another stunning collection for the upcoming bridal market. Crystal encrusted designs and decadent lace highlighted the gowns, but some of our favorites were actually the clean, sleek, designs with unique crystal and pearl accents.

Rivini

Canadian fashion designer Rita Vinieris came to market this year with some definite hits. Bringing a new color – dusty rose – and creating some stunning new details for classic silhouettes, both the Rivini and Alynne lines showcased some beautiful gowns. One thing we’ve really come to love about Rivini is their inclusion of insanely beautiful custom veils.

Untamed Petals

Starting as a small idea from designer Amanda Judge, Untamed Petals has turned in to one of the top bridal accessory lines in just a few short years. Creating pieces for brides to compliment their wedding day style, Solutions carries an assortment of sashes, belts, jewelry and headpieces in their salon. We popped in to see both their latest designs and their continuing collection at their room in NYC during market.

Maria Elena Headpieces

One of our favorite stops each season is the Maria Elena showroom. From practical to editorial – they create beautiful custom pieces for brides AND grooms! If you want to make a bold statement, or just find a simple classic piece of jewelry – Maria Elena has it all. I think what I love the most is her incorporation of unique, stylish pieces – like a stud/chandelier earring mix, or ruby encrusted crowns. Our favorite was definitely the full body crystal jeweled piece that Tali wore in her makeshift maternity session!
